Mafer Hernandez (b. 1995, Guatemala) has been developing a photographic practice using installations, alternative photographic processes, artist books and the color blue. She speaks about her educational journey through Guatemala history, her connection to land and the light within the self. Mafer holds a BFA in photography and printmaking by the San Francisco Art Institute. Her work has been presented in the Eric Quezada Center, Back To The Picture Gallery and 1890 Bryant Studios in San Francisco and it is included in the de Young Museum Collection and the Latin American Collection of the Stanford University Libraries.
